Myiasis is the parasitic infestation of the body of a live mammal by fly larvae or maggots that grow inside the host while feeding on its tissue.

Also known as “maggot infestation,” it is most prevalent seasonally during warm-weather months, especially in hot, moist climates.

Myiasis is considered to be a disease of neglect. Old, dirty, and wounded & weak animals are especially vulnerable to maggot infestation.

Usage:

Wash the wound 2 to 3 times daily with sufficient quantity of the liquid. If possible, remove the maggots carefully with forceps or tongs before washing.
